Advocacy for Victims of Hate Crime
The Hate Crime Advocacy & Empowerment Project is funded by the Big Lottery Fund. It is a 3 year partnership project which began in August 2014 with Race Equality First as the lead partner and South East Wales Regional Equality Council (SEWREC) as the delivery
partner.
The project covers 10 local authority areas of South East Wales: Cardiff, Vale of Glamorgan, Rhondda Cynon Taff, Bridgend, Merthyr Tydfil, Caerphillly, Gwent, Blaenau Gwent, Torfaen and Monmouthshire.
Hate Crime involves any criminal offence which is perceived by the victim or any other person to be motivated by hostility or prejudice based on personal characteristics including: Disability - Race - Religion - Sexual Orientation - Gender Identity
