'The Donald Trump of Wales' Ukip candidate condemned for remarks about ethnic minorities in Cardiff

The Ukip Assembly candidate at the centre of a racism row over his comments about immigrants in Cardiff risks being labelled “the Donald Trump of Wales”.

Mr Bennett said on Thursday that ethnic groups were responsible for “hygiene problems” in the capital, including littering.

 


Mr Bennett’s words have also attracted criticism from Cardiff-based group Race Equality First.

Chief executive officer Aliya Mohammed said: “The diverse people and cultures in this city are what make Cardiff such a great place to live and work. People migrate from across the UK to live in Cardiff and students make it their permanent home because they don’t want to leave.”
