Learning Objectives
By the end of the course, particpants will:
- Understand the background to the Equality Act, who is covered, and which organisations have responsibilities under the Act;
- Have an awareness of the protected characteristics covered by the Act;
- Have an awareness of the different kinds of discrimination prohibited by the Act and what to do if they encounter or experience discrimination;
- Understand the concept of reasonable adjustments and positive action;
- Understand the aims of the Public Sector Equality Duty and the responsibilities of public authorities covered by the Act.
