Equality & Human Rights in the Community Project

Project Outline:  To work with individuals and communities to raise awareness of the Equality Act 2010 equipping individuals and communities with the tools to challenge discrimination and inequality.


Aims of the Project:

  • To improve individuals’ and communities’ knowledge of Equality and Human Rights legislation enabling them to challenge discrimination, poor service and inequality at a local level;
  • To empower individuals and community/grassroots organisations to equip themselves with equality and human rights tools and language;
  • To facilitate participants’ increased confidence to assert their rights in their everyday lives;
  • To provide participants with knowledge about organisations/ services to approach to seek help/escalate their complaints with regards to discrimination;
  • To provide a good knowledge and skills base so that individuals and communities can stand up against discrimination.
